Iao Katagiri Community Impact Award Recipient - Shari Davis

Shari Davis is recognized for her tremendous contributions and dedication to advancing educational equity and early childhood wellbeing, and for her exceptional ability to activate others as agents of change within their communities.

Shari Davis is the Co-Director of the Santa Monica College Public Policy Institute and an Adjunct Professor of Political Science. A long-time education and youth advocate, Shari serves on several community-based committees, including Community for Excellent Public Schools (CEPS) and the Santa Monica Early Childhood Task Force. She is a current Board member of Coro Southern California and a former Board member (Founding Chair) of The Children’s Partnership.

Betsy Awards Honoree - Los Angeles Partnership for Early Childhood Investment

Los Angeles Partnership for Early Childhood Investment (Partnership) is recognized for their impactful contributions to the early childhood field over the past 20 years, including their efforts to improve Black/African American maternal and infant health and to increase media coverage of early childhood issues.

The Partnership educates its members on critical early childhood issues, leverages and aligns private dollars to advance systems change, and uses its collective voice to speak up on behalf of the County’s youngest residents.
