Connections for Children now has a presence at El Camino College

Connections for Children was proud to partner with El Camino College and Professor Cynthia Cervantes, M.A. (Ed.), to bring the Los Angeles County Emergency Child Care Bridge Trauma-Informed Care Training Series to students, staff, faculty, and community members throughout the El Camino College (ECC) and Torrance communities which took place from April 2026 through June 3rd, 2026.

Connections for Children (CFC) hosted its first ECE Empowerment Summit on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach, bringing together 48 Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals for a day of learning, connection, and renewal.

Connections for Children (CFC) was proud to host our first Super CPR Day at El Camino College in partnership with our Preventive Health & Safety Hub (PHS) agencies (Crystal Stairs, Pathways LA, Children’s Home Society—Long Beach) and partners at Hands to Heart CPR.

Connections for Children’s Holiday Angels Toy & Book Drive brought holiday joy to a record-breaking 818 children and 330 families, distributing 1,636 free toys and books. Thanks to generous donors, child care providers, and community partners, families also connected with valuable child care resources and year-round support.

Through the statewide implementation of Universal Pre Kindergarten (UPK), California is reshaping the pathways for families by expanding access for three and four year olds to quality early care and education (ECE). Amid these changes, Connections for Children continues to emphasize a parent-choice model, helping families to determine the learning path that best supports their children.
