From wildfires to flood warnings, if there’s one thing the past year has taught us, it’s that emergencies can happen anytime and anywhere – including during child care. That’s why Connections for Children (CFC) offers free Preventive Health & Safety (PHS) trainings: so that you can have the confidence and skills to make informed decisions to keep children safe in urgent situations.
We know that the safety and well-being of the children in your care remain high priority. Through our PHS program, you will gain emergency response skills that build trust with families who rely on prepared caregivers. Our PHS trainings are open to child care providers, individuals preparing to start a child care business, and members of the broader community.
Connections for Children’s PHS trainings are Emergency Media Services Authority (EMSA) certified and meet California’s child care licensing requirements. We also offer free EMSA-certified trainings on safe sleep, disaster preparedness, and active shooter preparedness.
Don’t forget! You can receive reimbursement for eligible Health & Safety trainings taken outside of CFC between July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026. Reimbursements are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
